Naming Your German Shepherd
Choosing a name for you new German Shepherd puppy can be one of your hardest decisions (after all you and your dog are going to have to live with it for a long time) or it can be a snap.
When it comes to naming your German Shepherd many new owners simply use or modify the name the breeders gave them while others already have that one name in mind. Remember though, when choosing your name, what sounds really nice while your dog is still a cuddly puppy can sometimes seem a bit funny when they are fully grown, then too the opposite may apply and good sounding name for an adult dog can sometimes sound a bit funny when you’re calling to your puppy.
No matter what though, once you’ve chosen your German Shepherd’s name don’t change it. It will be a key part in training your dog and will add to your pup’s confusion and delay in training if you start with one name and then change to another.

You’re so right, when picking a name make sure it’s something that won’t be silly when their full grown.
When we got our last dog from a dog rescue centre she was called mini because she was so small. It was a really cute name for her then but can you imagine shouting that out and then having the biggest dog in the park come running towards you!!

lol - And yes it’s certainly something to take into consideration when choosing your dog’s name
