33 Percent of People Spell It German Shepards

I was amused to find out that about one in any 3 individuals write out the word German Shepherd mistakenly, spelling them German Shepards instead. I’m amazed that this word is so normally misspelled, & I am even more surprised to realized that I spelled it like this for so loads of of my life.

I loathe spelling words wrong and I always try to avoid it. I am consistently careful to make sure that I am precise with my spelling, however like any human being, occasionally I simply mess up. The great news is that I have an easy way to bear in mind how to properly spell this breed of dog correctly.

Follow my little procedure here and you most certainly will always recall that it is not German Shepards, rather shepherds.

Think back to why this kind of dog was created and maybe you’ll quickly figure it out. The German Shepherd was created as a labor dog, and it was only at the turn of the century that this dog came to life.

Individuals in Germany desired a dog to help herd sheep. Think of the words herd and sheep this time, & then reverse them. You do not think of the German Shepards (I am kidding) now as sheep herding dogs, as they’re normally used by law enforcement to fight crime, in airports to find substances, and in other places that rely on the dog’s strong sense of smell.

This, however, is why they happened to be bred, & remembering this should make it a lot easier to spell the word properly.

As long as you try to keep this in mind any time you write or type out the word, I think you certainly will get it accurately from here. Don’t feel too badly regarding it because one in three folks do spell it wrong.

I hope this has been useful. Here’s to some spelling triumphs in the future when it comes to this wonderful breed of dog.

Now that you remember it’s not German Shepards, you’ll have to learn various German Shepherd training tips at my blog.
