This is bang on the money! Different breeds were bred for different things so they need different approaches to training. This is why I created my Jack Russell site and wrote my book on Jack Russell training. If you don’t approach training these little characters in the right way, they will just walk all over you. Literally.

This was a great post- Along side with your comments I would like to add that utilizing all of your tips CONSISTENTLY is crucial. Like you said, being even tempered is key because dogs don’t always understand anger, they just see excitement. But if you train them in fear, they will be fearful animals and later on have to deal with anxiety and other problems. Keep telling people to get this done! Dog training is important!

We have an invisible dog fence or they also called electric dog fence, electronic dog fence underground dog fence, in ground dog fence, radio fence, hidden fence or perimeter dog fence and other names. They have many names but all basically work on the same idea. To keep you dog enclosed in an area that you determine by using an under ground wire connected to a transmitter and a dog collar that connects to it by radio waves. As I said we have a wired version and have for 7 years and it has worked fabulously. We have kept our 3 Big Golden Retrievers safe inside a 5 acre area and they have never ventured out. They have freedom and are safe from cars and wandering off which Golden Retriever’s tend to do. The electric dog fence has given us tremendous freedom from worry, without having an unsightly wooden or chain link fence around our property. They are portable too we take it with us when we travel with our dogs. We would RECOMMEND THEM HIGHLY to everyone with a dog.

I breed white German Shepherd dogs, and they are wonderful family pets. They are smart,trainable,and protective. As a working breed they are happiest when they have a job. My plan is to train selected dogs to become autism companion dogs to respond to certain problems and to accompany the owner at all times.

Yeah you are right, the dog will become bad if you treat it bad. But there are dog also that you dont what to do, on how to make it stay calm, in short good. If you notice that your dog dont follow of what you said, then I think its time to go to dog obedience center. I think that’s the only way to make good and for the safe to the community.

You are right. Training Dog in early stage helps a lot. And be consistent of what you feed. This is the normal mistake of most dog owner, they feed thier dog inconsistent. This could be the possible why dog dont follow what you say or want to do. Thanks for the informaiton
