Discover How To House Train Your Puppy Fast

by Matt McGrath

Getting a new puppy is always an exciting time for a family. Puppies are so cute and adorable that everyone loves them. They quickly become part of the family and everyone loves the playing, the curiosity and the sweet cuddliness but nobody likes it when they go potty in the house. Puppy potty training is probably the most difficult and likely the only real problem associated with having a new puppy but if you are going to be a happy dog owner you will need to know that your puppy house training is efficiently done.

The most crucial thing to remind yourself of and to be wary of is that your puppy is still just a baby. He does not yet have the ability to control his potty habits or to know what you are asking him to do when you tell him to go potty. You will need to have patience and work with him closely for a few weeks before he develops the capability to ask you when it is time to go out and to manage his bladder and other functions.

A young puppy that is less than 15 weeks of age might need to go outside as frequently as 2-3 times per hour. A puppy that is playing hard will also need to go out more frequently because playing creates urine. Remember that your puppy is still not able to control himself so any accidents at this stage are not his fault but rather your fault for not getting him out to potty more often.

The most crucial aspect to puppy house training is to be consistent. Use consistent commands, take him to the same spot and give him consistent praise and treats. Your puppy will learn fast if you always do things the same way but mix anything up and he will get confused. Puppies respond well to consistency.

As you are housetraining your puppy you will need to make sure that the situation is as positive as can be for your puppy. If he ever has any fear of your reactions or if he ever feels fear that he is doing something wrong your house training efforts will take more time. Your puppy wants to please you and if he does not know how to do that it will take more time for him to learn about potty training.

When you need to be away from your puppy you should put your puppy in a crate. A crate will actually assist you with your puppy house training because dogs by nature tend to keep their own space clean. Generally a puppy will not soil in his crate so a crate will help him learn to control himself. Puppies and dogs are also den animals and they feel comfortable in the safety of a smaller den of their own.

A positive atmosphere and consistency will be the most important aspects of your puppy house training. Make sure that you are consistently taking your puppy outside, that you consistently take him to the same spot and that you consistently give him praise and treats for doing his duty. If you make the whole puppy house training experience a positive one for your puppy you will have success quicker and it will be more effective.

Puppy house training is the most important aspect of owning a new puppy and you can train your puppy in just a few short weeks if you are consistent and positive about the process. You will then be able to enjoy your puppy more as he grows and you will never have to worry about accidents in the house again.

House Breaking For The New Dog Owner

by Matt McGrath

It is always an exciting and fun time when you get a new puppy. Puppies melt your heart with their adorable antics and their cute faces but as every new puppy owner soon finds out there is one difficult aspect that they all must deal with and that is puppy house training.

The most crucial thing to remind yourself of and to take into consideration is that your puppy is still very young. He does not yet have the ability to control his potty habits or to realize what you are wanting him to do when you tell him to go potty. You will need to have patience and work with him closely for a couple of weeks before he develops the capability to ask you when it is time to go out and to control his bladder and other functions.

At 12 weeks of age a puppy will have to go outside as rfrequently as every 15-20 minutes and even more if he is actively playing. A quietly resting or sleeping puppy will not have to go out quite as often so during the nighttime you can have more time especially if he is sleeping. Do not awaken a sleeping puppy just make sure to take him outside as soon as he awakens.

The important thing to remember when you are potty training your puppy is to be consistent. Make sure and have a leash and take him to the same designated potty place every outing. Use consistent commands such as “potty now” and repeat the commands as required. Consistency is what it important when completing puppy house training.

As you are housetraining your puppy you will need to make sure that the situation is as positive as can be for your puppy. If he ever has any fear of your reactions or if he ever feels fear that he is doing something wrong your house training efforts will take longer. Your puppy wants to please you and if he does not know how to do that it will take longer for him to learn about potty training.

It is unlikely that you will be able to spend all of your time with your puppy so when you need to be away from your puppy you should put him in a crate. Puppies and dogs are natural den animals and they crave a small home of their own. Also, puppies will rarely soil their own place so a crate will help to teach your puppy how to control himself.

A positive atmosphere and consistency will be the most crucial aspects of your puppy house training. Make sure that you are consistently taking your puppy outside, that you consistently take him to the same spot and that you consistently give him praise and treats for doing his duty. If you make the whole puppy house training experience a positive one for your puppy you will have success more quickly and it will be more effective.

Puppy house training is the most crucial part of owning a new puppy and you can train your puppy in just a few short weeks if you are consistent and positive about the process. You will then be able to enjoy your puppy more as he grows and you will never have to worry about accidents in the house again.

Quickly And Easily Train Your Dog

by Matt McGrath

A well-trained dog is a pleasure to be around and a pleasure to own. If you love your dog and you love being a dog owner you owe it to yourself and to your dog to make sure that you follow through with all of the dog obedience training that you can. Your dog will be easier to live with, get along with and much safer than if you fail to train your dog.

Well-trained dogs will never cause their owners to be embarrassed. They require less restrictions and can be relied upon in all circumstances. In this way a well-trained dog is nice to own. A well-trained dog will never cause unnecessary problems for his master.

If your dog is well-trained most people respond positively towards them and you. Untrained dogs that bark too much or jump around like mad and jump all around and jump up and on other people make everybody uncomfortable including you, the owner of the dog. A well-behaved dog is just nicer to own and nicer for everyone to be around.

A dog that is leash-trained and will heel properly at his owner’s side and will sit down without hesitation upon command is much more welcome in a public place among other people and other pets than a dog that is rowdy and out-of-control. Also, a well-trained dog receives much more positive attention and interactions from other people, be they friends, family or even strangers. A well-trained and obedient dog can melt away people’s fears and open up their hearts.

As a responsible dog owner you need to take care of your dog obedience training. Training a dog can strengthen the bond between the dog and his owner. Training a dog forges mutual respect, communication, and understanding and makes it apparent to your dog that as his master and owner you are the “alpha dog”. If your dog considers you to be the leader you will deflect many difficulties especially if your dog is a high strung and rambunctious by nature.

If you want to keep your dog safe, obedience training is one of the most important things that you can do. If your dog slips out of his collar in the middle of a busy street you will be able to control your dog until you are able to get to a safer place. If someone fails to lock your gate and your dog gets out you will be able to get your dog to come back and you won’t have to contend with the animal control people picking him up and taking him away. A well-trained dog will save you much frustration, energy and time.

It is nice to have the ease of knowing that your dog is dependable and reliable around children. This can even be a liability problem and it is very important. Good manners, proper behavior in a crowd and reliability are important aspects that your dog will gain with the appropriate obedience training.

You will enjoy having your dog much more if you take the time, energy and money to appropriately train your dog. Both you and your dog will be more at ease.
